Kera asked: I need to get a personal loan for about 2,500. I need to hire a lawyer for child support/custody issues. Unfortunately, my credit isn’t that great. I’ve always paid everything on time. My only issue is how much I have to pay. Is there a way I can get this loan??

kevin R asked: Have a car I’d like to trade in (paid older car), but a few years back I got a personal loan and used my car as collateral. Can I trade my car in? Will the dealership pay my lein off and maybe add it to the new car? The loan was $1500 and I don’t have the money to pay the loan off in full (it’s in default)

g_threadgill asked: Trying to get a $5000 personal loan to pay off doctors bills and past due bills. Anyone out there have any ideas? Both have full-time work, but not good credit history. Tried Prosper with little success. Need a fresh start, but having trouble finding someone to lend with confidence. Thanks for looking and answering, and please NO negative comments. (we know what we have done in the past, so that doesn’t help)

lookinout asked: I am trying to get a personal loan through my credit union. I have bad credit due to immature decisions when I was younger. I now pay my bills on time and am capable of paying back a loan. Do you think I have a better chance of getting the loan if I have collateral and a co-signer?

Jennifer K asked: I am in a pretty bad credit situation. I got an auto loan 3 years ago with the help of a cosigner. I have made every payment on time. Now my loan is up and I would like to get a personal loan of 5,000 dollars. I still have the same things on my credit report as 3 years ago. Do you think the bank would give me a loan without a cosigner? Even though I have bad credit wouldn’t I be considered credit worthy with them? Thanks for any help.

saving grace asked: I got a personal loan to pay off items on my credit report. I could have paid them off without getting the loan but thought this would be the best way to re-establish my credit and raise my score at the same time. The Loan is for 12months but I plan on paying it off in 3 months. Would this look good to the credit agencys or should I pay it off in 6 months? I really dont need a year but my bank said this would be a great way of starting over and rebuilding my credit history.

T J asked: I want to apply for a personal loan but I want to do this alone, without including my husbands name on the paper work. Is this possible? I have a good job, okay credit and his is not so good, so I don’t want it to hurt my chances of getting the loan.
