Can a personal loan be included in a bankrupsy file?

A friend owes me money, I have documents to prove this, however I learned he is planning to file for bankrupsy, can he include the money he owes me as part of it? would then I be notified by the court if he has included in the filing?

   I’m sorry. You will never see that money.

   A documented personal loan can be included, but your friend may not bother to list it in the file. You should be notified if he does.

   Unless it is alot of money it would not be worth the court costs.

   You just paid for an expensive lesson that many of us have paid for. Never loan people money.

   Gifting feels better than loaning money, and they cost the same.
