Some major banks offer student loans and personal loans for students. There are alternative loans offered on the state level in addition to the federal loans. If you take out a private loan you would do better getting one from a credit union because they have lower interest rates.

You may be able to qualify for research and study grants offered by the medical school. Check with the research department.
