I’m going to try to get a personal loan to help with roof repair, but I have some credit card debt?

That’s an excellent idea if you can get your interest rate low enough,so that the lump sum payment works in your favor.
Credit card debt is a burden to have hanging over your head,and most of the time the interest rate is so high (18- 30) percent,that your not able to pay much more then the interest rate each month,never getting the bill out of orbit.
As long as your credit is in fair shape,a personal loan with lower interest rate,would make your life a lot easier,and so would only having one payment a month.
I have done this and was very happy with just having one bill come in for all my accrued purchases.

It is a good idea if these three things are true (1) the interest rate on the personal loan is lower than the interest rate on the credit card and (2) you can afford the higher payment. Typically personal loans are only given a year or two for repayment period. (3) You will not get behind on credit cards again - just use them for small purchases and pay in full every month so you don’t pay any interest.
Ask your bank (the one you want to borrow the roof repair from) what the two payments will be and make sure you can afford it. Even at a lower interest rate, the total out of pocket for each payment will likely be higher, but the good news is the loan will be paid off MUCH faster than you will pay off a credit card.

My dear I have the thousand dollar personal credit through the bank and you get to keep it as long as u need it. the payment a month is only 50 dollars. It’s actually really nice to have.
