Where can I find a Personal Loan with a really bad credit score?
malaret2 asked:
I have a good paying steady job with the best job security(i’m in the Military). im in debt but only because i have all these bills in different places and not enoughf money to pay for all of them, if i had a personal loan for about $5,000-$8,000 i would be more then ok. My problem is that my credit got really bad(horible) and i have tried just about everyplace online to find a loan, at this point im kind of desperite, i would pay an extremly high inteset rate just to get a loan. Any ideas can anyone help?

I got mine through American General Finance. Google them.
Good luck.

I understand–I’ve been there. It is going to be very difficult, if not impossible to get a personal loan with a low credit score. My bank told me that usually they want to see a score of 725+. They also look at your debt to income ratio. However, being in the military, do they offer any kind of financial services that can help you? The other solution is find someone willing to co-sign the loan for you.
If you cannot get a loan to pay off your debt, I would suggest contacting your most recent creditors and explain the situation. However, it is my oppinion not to deal with collection agencies. Try to deal with the original creditor and come to some kind of plan–but get everything in writing before you agree to anything! Also make sure they are not going to hand you over to a collection agency or file a judgement against you. If you have collections over several years old, contacting them may do more harm than good from what I have read and been told!
I have found the sites below of enormous help in repairing my credit. You should take a look and see if anything is of help. I am only answering from my own personal experience and research, so I suggest checking out several books on credit repair before you contact your creditors. And by the way, do not go to a credit repair agency–you can do all of it yourself!!
Hope this helps and I wish you luck!

You can also try prosper.com. It’s a person to person lending site, which is set up in an eBay style auction. People with really bad credit can get decent loans there, especially if they’re committed to taking the time to improve their credit and work with the people there. It’s a great site.
